Winter is upon us and so are the cold dry winds. Many people feel that summer can do more damage to your skin but that’s really not the case. Although the harshness of sunlight and UV in summer affects our skin very much, the cold and dry air of winter does just as much damage to your skin, if not more.
You can only protect your glowing skin in winter if you understand the potential danger it causes to our skin.
Here are some basic tips so that you can mark yourself safe from the potential danger of winter robbing away your beautiful skin glow from you.
Drink plenty of water:
We know drinking water in winter is very hard but it is important for your health as well as for your skin to retain its glow and don’t look pale. Because of the dryness winter possesses, our skin dries quickly leaving a dull and pale appearance. Moisturizing the surface of the skin is no good if it is dry from the inside. This will damage the skin. So make sure to drink plenty of water so that you can look and feel fresh, inside and out.
Fight dryness:
Fight the dryness by regularly moisturizing your skin. But everybody knows that. What’s important is that you moisturize intelligently. You should not just use the regular moisturizer you used in summer. Because it doesn’t work that way. Most summer moisturizers are water-based. Because you don’t want that oily skin in summer. But you need an oil-based moisturizer for winter because the oil will form a protective coat on your skin and retains moisture much more and longer.
Sunscreen:
It is winter and cold outside but the sun hasn’t stopped shining so make sure to apply sunscreen to protect yourself from the UV rays. Some say that the winter sun in the snow is even harsher than the summer sun. and it is true to some extent. So use a broad-spectrum sunblock while going outside in the sunlight.
