A pedicure is a beauty treatment for your feet where your feet are cleansed and beautified, your toenails are cleaned and polished, nail polish is applied on them and the overall look of your feet is changed.
People go to saloons for pedicures where you just sit back and relax while a professional treat your feet and toenails for beautification. But a good pedicure can also be done at home, all by yourself.
Follow these simple steps to do a simple and effective pedicure at home
- Find a large basin in which you can fit your feet easily. Or just find a large enough tub that your feet are easily dipped into it. Sit on a chair and dip your feet into the tub placed on the floor. Fill the tub or sink with warm water, salt, and bath soap all mixed together. It will give you a relaxing feeling and cleanse your feet in no time.
- Scrub from your toes to your calves with a sponge, or preferably a pumice stone on rougher areas, if you have that. Don’t rub it too hard. Be gentle and consistent.
- Now scrub your toes with a nail brush. And gently push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher. Try to avoid trimming the cuticles and treat them very gently to avoid any damage.
- Trim your toenails to the desired length and then files them to scrub off all the sharp edges and give them a smooth and proper shape as per your liking.
- Apply foot cream to your feet to moisturize them and keep the skin baby soft.
- Remove any residues or cream from your toenails to make them ready for nail polish.
- Keep your toes separated to make the paint job easier. Roll some tissue paper and place them between your toes to keep them apart from each other.
- Apply your favorite nail polish, the way you like it
- Voila!
