Hygiene:

Maintain good hygiene of your nails. Maintain a regular routine of proper manicure and pedicure. Trim your nails equally and buff them on regular basis.

Moisturize:

Whenever you use a moisturizer for your hands, rub a little bit of it on your nails and cuticles too. They also need moisture to keep healthy.

Protect them:

You can apply a protective layer and harden them to keep them safe from breaking away, especially if you are planning on keeping the long nails. Try on some acrylic coating on your nails for this purpose.

Don’ts:

Bite fingernails:

Biting your nails is a very bad habit. It greatly affects your personality as well as your health. It ruins the shape of your nails and gives them a very ugly look. It also increases the chances of infection and getting germs into your mouth by this habit is another debate.

Pull hangnails:

Chances are, you will definitively pull off live tissue along with that hangnails. And believe you me, it hurts a lot. So carefully clip off hangnails if you find one.

Harsh nail care products:

Don’t use harsh products for the beautification of your nails. Don’t opt for beauty at the cost of nailcare. Limit your use of nail polish remover. And if you need one, try to get those acetone-free ones.
